Interior Secretary Ken Salazar says the first step in considering crude oil and gas exploration on the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf will begin tomorrow. Salazar said the department will initiate a public comment period on the environmental impact of seismic studies this week. The movement against drilling for natural gas in New York City’s watershed got a boost on Monday from Mayor Michael Bloomberg. And Texas refiners are curtailing production following last weekend’s oil-tanker spill near Port Arthur. And the President of Novozymes North America is on set to talk about the biofuels his company has at this year's Washington Auto Show.
