Turner To Develop Renewable Energy
Media mogul and environmentalist Ted Turner is getting into the business of renewables.
Turner announced he's teaming up with Southern Company of Atlanta to develop renewable energy projects.
Initially, they will develop and invest in large scale solar photovoltaic projects in the Southwest.
Turner says the goal is to make solar more efficient and increase demand to commercialize the technology, making it more cost competitive.
Turner is the largest individual landowner in North America with more than two million acres. The alliance will explore renewable projects both on Turner land as well as other sites.
