Penn State Investigation Intensifies
The investigation into the role of a Penn State climate scientist involved in the stolen East Anglia e-mails is taking a more serious turn.
The university says its inquiry into whether Professor Michael Mann committed academic misconduct about his climate research, has turned into an full-scale probe. Investigators are looking into whether Mann violated ethical rules during his climate research.
The university did clear Mann of allegations that he destroyed emails or manipulated data involving climate science.
Mann and University of East Anglia professor Phil Jones have been accused by climate skeptics of fudging the data that went into the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's 2007 report.
